Protection When You Need It Most
You don’t always know who's standing at your door or whether they pose a threat until it’s too late.
It could be someone you know, a classmate, a friend, an ex, or even a delivery person. Someone who seems completely harmless can become aggressive or threatening only after you open the door. And once that happens, a traditional door lock or chain lock can’t help you. The door is already open, and the person can use their strength to force their way inside.
Operation is Simple
Holdoor is mounted at the lower corner of the door, directly beneath the door handle. It can be deployed before the door is opened or at the moment the door is opened by simply kicking or stepping on the lower portion of the blade marked “In Emergency Kick Here.”
Once deployed, Holdoor immediately engages with the floor. As you begin forcing the door closed, Holdoor continues to resist the force being applied against the door. As the door moves toward the closed position, Holdoor automatically regrips and reengages, helping maintain resistance throughout the closing process.
Unlike traditional door security products that require the door to already be closed, Holdoor is designed specifically for the critical moment when the door is still open and a threat is already at the doorway. It helps give the occupant the ability to push the door closed while Holdoor continues to resist and regrip against the force being applied.

Easy to Reset. Emergency Access When Needed.
Once the emergency is over, simply lift the Holdoor blade back into position using your foot or hand. It quickly returns to the ready position and is ready to use again.
If you're unable to retract the blade yourself due to an injury, medical emergency, or other situation, first responders and authorized college or university personnel have a dedicated tool to release the door and gain access to you for emergency assistance.
